2N Developing Internal RFID Card Reader for 2N Helios IP Force

2N Telecommunications

2N is responding to market demand by developing a new internal RFID card reader for installation in the 2N Helios IP Force intercom.

The internal RFID card reader for the 2N Helios IP Vario has been very popular, and we are excited 2N is working hard to bring the same functionality to their ultra durable and robust 2N Helios IP Force.

With the new card reader, the 2 button security intercom will now support:

  • A reading frequency of 13.56 MHz.
  • Standards such as HID iCLASS, Mifare and NFC.

The RFID card reader will also include a security switch to signal the opening of the front panel. The new RFID card reader will include the same interfaces found in the 2N Helios IP Vario RFID card reader:

  • Two switches
  • Two inputs
  • One Wiegand interface

With the new internal RFID card reader for the 2N Helios IP Force, you get a simple and cost effective solution for:

  • Checking building access logs
  • Recording activity at sensitive entry nodes
  • Controlling a building’s security system

The new internal RFID card reader for the 2N Helios IP Force can be used in conjunction with your existing 2N Helios IP Vario RFID card reader, since the existing IP Vario card reader has a reading frequency of 125 kHz and supports the EM Marin and HID Proximity standards. The new internal RFID card reader for the 2N Helios IP Force is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2013.
